About this deal

Colonel Bullfrog is the story of unlikely friendship between Japanese soldiers and a British PoW and how the friendship evolves even after the WW2 has ended. Unfortunately, she had not warned Benjamin that there were complications when she gave birth the first time, and had been advised by the doctors not to have any more children. She died during the childbirth. While on the way to the funeral, Benjamin—who is reconciled with Christina's parents and his own father—passes by the hospital to see Deborah. Unfortunately, the baby was too weak to survive and died not long after the birth. Unable to withstand the loss of both wife and child on the same day, Benjamin commits suicide. Following up information received in the Carla Moorland ‘Lovers’ Tiff’ murder, a man is helping the police with their inquiries.” The commonplace expressions I had read so often in the past suddenly took on a real meaning. It was so cold standing out there waiting for the No. 19 that I wished it had been me who was wearing it.”

You wake up one day to realise that you can talk to dogs. But it turns out that you have been turned into an actual dog. More doggy prompts on our writing prompts about dogs post. A shy teenager is kidnapped by aliens who promise to let her live in exchange for her writing scary stories. It turns out the whole story is actually told by an alien mother to her alien child. Carla's eyes flashed as she leaped forward and slapped me across the face with all the strength she could muster. I'll have coffee with whom I damn well please," she said, "and wearing what I damn well please, especially when you are on your way home to your wife." As I drove out of the office car park and joined the evening rush hour I began to regret having been so sharp with Carla. After all, the role of the other woman was hardly one she delighted in. The feeling of guilt persisted, so that when I reached the corner of Sloane Square, I jumped out of my car and ran across the road.I’ll have coffee with whom I damn well please,” she said, “and wearing what I damn well please, especially when you are on your way home to your wife.”

A man who must have made his profit from lovers selected twelve unopened buds without comment. My choice didn’t show a great deal of imagination but at least Carla would know I’d tried. A man who must have made his profit from lovers selected twelve unopened buds without comment. My choice didn't show a great deal of imagination but at least Carla would know I'd tried. I found myself wondering, irrelevantly, if he would ever be President. “President Dukakis” didn’t sound quite right to me.

The Steal is the story of a married couple of two teachers who save up all the year round for their vacation. At the end of the year they visit a new country and bring home a memento of their vacation that they refer to as the "steal". Do you usually have coffee with an insurance broker in your negligee? Come to think of it, my negligee." There are twelve short stories in A Twist in the Tale, with each promising a twist at the end. The first story, “A Perfect Murder,” follows a man who believes he’s committed the perfect crime. The man is a writer who kills his mistress one evening during a heated argument. He kills her because he discovers that she’s been unfaithful to him. He refuses to go to jail for what he’s done, and so he concocts a plan to lay the blame on the other man.

The main character wakes up one morning to discover that they have been asleep in a coma for years and that they have been dreaming about their life for years. I was disappointed. It had been another depressing day, and now I was being asked to forgo the one thing that would have made it bearable. Stories nine, ten, and eleven are titled “The Wine Taster,” “A Chapter of Accidents,” and “The Loophole.” In “The Wine Taster,” a man inherits a wine cellar even though he knows nothing about wine. He makes a fool of himself when he brags about his wine collection to people who know wine well. “A Chapter of Accidents” follows a man who sets up convenient and elaborate traps to snare a man having an affair with his wife, but he is the one who’s duped. In “The Loophole,” two famous best friends turn to enemies to make money, but it costs them dearly when the public catches on to their scheme. Sefton Hamilton is a rich but unpleasant man, as the narrator (no name is mentioned but he is a writer by profession, as Hamilton calls him "that author johnny" [2] :p.190) learns during a dinner at his friend's place. Pretentiously, Hamilton talks over the other guests and spreads his own opinions on any topic. When it comes to wine, he even disrespects the knowledgeable president of the Wine Society, Freddie Barker, another guest present. Finally the male guests of this dinner are invited to a lunch at Hamilton's, together with a wager that Barker will not be able to recognize any of four wines offered. kiadott műben, Jeffrey Archer tollából.

Over 40 Short Story Ideas With a Twist Carla’s death, in their combined editorial opinion, must have been less important than a Third-Division football result between Reading and Walsall. Elizabeth continued reading her latest library book, oblivious to my possible peril. Gerald Haskins and Walter Ramsbottom are friends and rivals since their common school days in Hull. Gerald steals Walter's fiancée Angela Bradbury and marries her. They spend their honeymoon in the fictitious little kingdom of Multavia which is described as “sandwiched between Austria and Czechoslovakia”. [2] :p.94 The main character wakes up one morning to discover that their reality is a computer game and that they have been playing it for years.
