About this deal

This means that when you select the lovely and fundamentally honest Heads I Win, Tails You Lose by Olli Brown, the Eversolo doesn’t embellish what’s going on. All you get is an absurdly talented young bloke surrounded by musicians who know their instruments inside out. Every single one of them sounds exactly like they should; tonally correct and possessed of the scale and dimensions that they need to be something you don’t question. The utterly marvellous cover of No Diggerty is sumptuously ‘Hi-Fi’ without ever not being as much fun as it should be.

You can rip cd’s (just add comptable cd drive to usb OTG port or use another port with OTG cable), it finds the Album Covers. The DMP-A6 Master Edition DAC settings offer 7 filters applicable to your music listening preferences. In addition, custom VU meters are available for on-screen display itself built into a sturdy, modern-looking aluminum chassis. Analogue pre amp/volume control. This product looks like it’s going to allow me to ditch my integrated amp and use this straight into a power amp. There are plenty of Dacs/ streamers that can do this already but there is alway the fear (perhaps not the most valid) that having a purely digital volume control directly into a power amp could cause a problem one day (there have been examples reported). Not saying this product is the first to solve this but as someone who was interested In the A6, this is a welcome “upgrade” to this unit making me more interested. The DMP-A6's DAC settings offer 7 filters applicable to your music listening preferences. In addition, custom VU meters are available for on-screen display itself built into a sturdy, modern-looking aluminum chassis. Smart control app Eversolo has made an excellent streamer with well-implemented ESS DAC chips and an excellent pre-amp stage. The design of the streamer, and the layout of the menus are excellent and it really is a very impressive device for the money. AT A GLANCE

EVERSOLO DMP-A6 REVIEW

The sound quality of the Dac is very good, true balanced. Sure there are better Dacs but are there better balanced Dac streamers at the same price? The resulting sound was everything I’d come to expect from Campfire’s bombastic headphones. That meant satisfyingly punchy blast beats from German technical death metal firm Obscura, and wonderfully rich and emotive vocals from Irish singer/songwriter Damien Rice. Magdalena Bay’s Mercurial World has been accurately described as a “dazzling pop smoothie”, and this setup allowed its mixture of synth-pop, disco, and electronica ingredients to shine through with an abundance of energy. The Cascade benefits from a clean, controlled, well-balanced chain, and certainly doesn’t need any additional warmth or bass bloom. The Eversolo/Musician combo proved to be an excellent pairing. No matter how we play songs and from whatever source, the Eversolo takes it all in its stride. It’s a very taut, punchy sound. The streamer delivers music with solid, clear notes and good space around instruments – it’s an upfront presentation that sounds as efficient as it is to use. We find this approach isn’t aggressive or hard in any way at either side of the frequency range – it just wants to be noticed.

The DMP-A6 Master Edition is equipped with balanced analog circuitry from the DAC chip to the stereo XLR and RCA outputs. This limits noise and channel separation provides better signal quality. Compatible with most music streaming services The audio decoding of the DMP-A6 is entrusted to two ESS ES9038 Q2M DAC chips, a high-performance model widely recognized by audiophiles. It also supports high-resolution audio streams up to PCM 32bit 768kHz and DSD512, as well as decoding of MQA files. LCD Touch Screen The high-definition 6" LCD touch screen perfectly integrated into the aluminum chassis of the DMP-A6 allows practical and ergonomic use. The user experience is intended to be as intuitive as possible. Thus, it is possible to access all player options and information through this beautiful interface. High speed SSD support it is equally adept with displaying intimacy so that the very human scale of the recording is retained.Play Circling by Four Tet and the DMP-A6 does a decent job of detail retrieval, with precise edges to notes and all the instruments relayed in an organised manner. SuperShy by NewJeans shines through in all its sparkly, K-Pop glory, while Marlon Williams’ smooth, melodious vocals come through cleanly on Strange Things– all in a rather pleasing way that’s nice to listen to.

The Bluetooth 5.0 reception of the DMP-A6 uses a Qualcomm QCC5125 chip. This supports the SBC, AAC, aptX, aptX LL, aptX HD and LDAC high-definition transmission codecs, allowing you to enjoy high-quality sound reproduction via Bluetooth.

FAQs

The unit itself is a fantastic thing, full of functionality and well laid out and designed. I have bought this and am setting it up for a friend as he's not too technical, but this does give me the perspective of comparing it with my own unit which is Auralic Altair G1, which uses the same DAC chips (but was more than double the price).

The flexibility of the Eversolo DMP-A6 is truly impressive and there are so many ways it can be incorporated into a system that it’s hard to find somewhere it won’t work well. CONCLUSION USB-C Audio Input: USB Audio Compatibility: Windows (7, 10), Mac, Android, IOS,Support up to stereo DSD512, PCM 768KHz 32Bit, MQAIt's not perfect though. The Eversolo is dependent on TuneIn Radio for internet radio and this has limitations, especially when it is called upon to access BBC content. AirPlay can be used to send the BBC Sounds App to the DMP-A6 but there’s no Cast for Android users (although there is aptX Bluetooth as a quasi-acceptable substitute). The absence of the simple but useful Bluetooth remote handsets that the Zidoo players come with is also a slight annoyance. It’s not that the Eversolo can’t be used without it but it reduces the convenience factor slightly. With its audiophile-quality preamplifier, the Eversolo DMP-A8 streamer is designed to enhance all sources of a hi-fi installation. To do so, it features a wide range of connectors, with RCA and XLR inputs for connecting a pre-amplified turntable or a CD player. The AKM DAC can be used for your digital sources thanks to six inputs, including two coaxial, two optical and a USB-B port to use the DMP-A8 as a USB DAC with a computer. Finally, the HDMI ARC port allows you to connect a TV. As for outputs, there are several digital ports to connect an external DAC, as well as RCA and XLR outputs for perfect compatibility with any hi-fi or power amp. The Eversolo DMP-A8 preamplifier and DAC benefits from a wide range of connectors with analog and digital inputs to easily connect all your sources. Eversolo DMP-A8: the streaming king Firstly, an HDMI ARC input – which I believe is near-essential on products of this stripe. Eversolo has also upgraded the USB input to XMOS Gen 3 and the Bluetooth 5.0 input is marshalled by Qualcomm’s QCC5125 chip to support LDAC, aptX HD, aptX LL, aptX, AAC and (of course) SBC. It is a streamer that doesn’t try to colour the sound too much, and it really isn’t overly noticeable in the system in terms of what might colour the sound, but it does have a typically linear presentation. It sacrifices a little warmth in exchange for a more tonally neutral sound that works well with most carefully put-together systems. It’s not the last note in organic sound, however, I never found it to come across as harsh or hard-edged either – it just kind of does its thing of presenting the music in an unconstrained and open way. It has the control and agility to deliver... exactly the right level of intensity...the DMP-A6 would be comfortable fronting a very capable digital-only system if you need it too. The transport functionality is arguably even more impressive.
