Voice Actors: Arthur Lowe (1975-1978), John Alderton (1983), Arnold Stang ( Mr. Men and Little Miss), Ron Rubin (US dub), Phil Lollar ( The Mr. Men Show), Tim Whitnall (UK dub), Effron Etkin ( Mr. Men and Little Miss Hebrew dub), Dor Zwigenbaum ( Mr. Men and Little Miss Hebrew dub, Mr. Lazy Takes an Afternoon Nap only)

Mr. Lazy is always lazy/sleepy, and he lives in Sleepyland, where there are only four hours a day, as opposed to 24, and it takes two regular hours for water to boil and three regular hours for bread to toast. One day, Mr. Lazy sits down for a nap, and is awoken by Mr. Busy and Mr. Bustle. They overwork him, until Mr. Bustle blows a whistle, requiring Mr. Lazy to run as fast as he can. Mr. Lazy runs, but his legs don't get him anywhere because he is sitting on a chair in the garden. He wakes up to realize it was all a dream, and the whistle was the kettle boiling in the kitchen. He sits down to have breakfast, and the dream really happens.Mr. Lazy and Mr. Noisy are the only characters in The Mr. Men Show to have detailed mouths as shown in scene transitions. This book isn’t just about Mr Lazy spending all his time sleeping though (or spending his children’s inheritance), because one day he is rudely woken up and made to do an awful lot of work. That I think is a little unfair because it doesn’t come across as if Mr Lazy is bludging off the system. He clearly owns his own house, and he clearly has enough money to buy food to eat, and his house is also pretty clean. Yet, he is being forced to work. That does seem to be a little unfair. The developers of The Mr. Men Show stated that Mr. Lazy's original design looked like a body organ and thus changed his design. Rivals: Mr. Rude, Mr. Mean, Little Miss Naughty, Little Miss Scary, Little Miss Bossy, Mr. Noisy, Mr. Busy And Mr. Bustle Likes: Creating excuses to stay far away from working, sleeping a lot, cupcakes, making machinery, needing help from other Mr. Men and Little Misses Charles Roger Hargreaves was an English author and illustrator of children's books, notably the Mr. Men and Little Miss series, intended for very young readers. He is Britain's third best-selling author, having sold more than 100 million books.Ahh, what a life. A place where you can sleep in to whenever, and pretty much lie in bed for as long as you like. Hey, that sounds a bit like university. Well, if you’ve lived the university lifestyle then you will be forgiven thinking that this is what it is all about. To be honest, one thing that I’ve discovered is that when you are at university it isn’t like a full time job, particularly the type where you don’t have to take work home. No, University pretty much dominates your entire life, but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing – you still get to sleep in. Mr. Lazy appeared much less in the second season, with only eight speaking roles and less than twenty lines total. Little Miss Calamity · Little Miss Daredevil · Mr. Scatterbrain · Mr. Stubborn · Mr. Metal · Little Miss Strong · Ghost · Caveman · Mummy · Cave-Nosey · Cave-Small · Mr. Rude's family · Mr. Fussy's unnamed relative · Loretto the Venus Flytrap By 1976, Hargreaves had quit his day job. In 1981, the Little Miss series of books began to appear. It, too, was made into a television series in 1983, which was narrated by John Alderton, who, with Pauline Collins, voiced the Men and Misses, respectively. Although Hargreaves wrote many other children's stories, including the Timbuctoo series of twenty-five books, John Mouse, and the Roundy and Squary books, he is best known for his 46 Mr. Men books and 33 Little Miss books. Mr. Miserable · Mr. Right · Mr. Thrifty · Mrs. Thrifty · Little Miss Penny · Little Miss Prudence · Wilfred the Wizard · Mr. Careless · Little Miss Nobody · Mr. Mean's brother · Little Miss Bump · Mr. Beefeater's Family

Mr. Lazy and Mr. Stubborn are the only characters in The Mr. Men Show to be shown with visible ears; in Mr. Lazy's case, they were visible in Boats. Mr. Lazy has more frames of animation than most of the other characters, probably because he moves much more slowly just like a sloth. However, for some reason I don’t think Mr Lazy is a university student. Rather he is just a person that has the fortune of being able to simply do nothing, lie in the sun, get up when he wants, and simply take his time to do pretty much anything. Actually, this sounds a lot like retirement, especially since when I was in Thailand the one thing that stood out were all the baby boomers lying by the pool and spending their children’s inheritance. Mr. Brawler · Mr. No · Little Miss Brilliant · Little Miss Busy-Body · Little Miss Carefree · Little Miss Careful · Little Miss Loud · Little Miss Pretty · Little Miss Prim · Little Miss Show-Off · Little Miss Yes Early publications depicted Mr. Lazy at the bottom left hand corner of the book. In the mid 1990s, he was moved to the centre of the book.Mr. Cheeky · Mr. Christmas · Mr. Birthday · Little Miss Jealous · Little Miss Christmas · Little Miss Birthday · Little Miss Stella · Mr. Moustache · Little Miss Explorer · Little Miss Valentine · Mr. Bolt · Little Miss Waste Less · Mr. Octopus
